Sony Ericsson DSC-S950

I just recently got a digital camera, Hooray! It is a Sony Ericsson DSC - S950 colored black. It is a Sony cyber shot point and shoot camera. As a first time user of this gadget, I did not have any problems using it. The controls are very easy to follow and very much self explanatory. Except for those symbols that only a camera expert or photo savvy will know. Of course, I consulted the manual that came with it if I encounter any unfamiliar setting or icon on the camera. The package contained the unit, battery, AC charger, USB charger, Setup Disc and an AV cable. You are right, it has an AV cable. This camera can be connected to your TV to view your photos or videos shot using this camera. Isn't that wonderful?

This little cutie is not just about that, it also comes in with very functional features that despite its size it makes a very useful tool in preserving your memories be it still or moving. Just to mention a few features this unit possess:

10.1 Megapixel Super HAD™ CCD Image Sensor:

A powerful 10.1 megapixel 1/2.3” Super HAD™ CCD image sensor helps you capture gorgeous images with superb contrast and clarity down to the finest detail. With 10.1 megapixels, you can create stunning, photo-quality prints up to A3 size, or crop your images and still come away with high resolution shots.

4x Optical Zoom Lens:

4x optical zoom lens captures sharp images, even from a distance, and enables close-up shooting up to just under 2” (5cm) from the subject.

2.7" LCD display1 (230k pixels):

A large 2.7” (230K pixels) LCD display1 features sharp, natural color that makes it easy to compose shots, read menus, and view photos.

Face Detection technology:

Face Detection technology detects up to eight individual faces and adjusts flash, focus, and exposure to deliver crisp, properly lit images of family and friends.

SteadyShot™ digital image stabilization:

SteadyShot™ digital image stabilization compensates for camera shake and helps prevent blur by capturing two photos at high shutter speeds and combining them into a single crisp, clear image.

Know more about this camera here.

I have used the camera for test shoots indoor and outdoor with different lighting condition. If you really know how to change settings depending on the environment this camera will be able to give you what it's supposed to deliver. All in all I can say that this is worth your money. A $129.99 value is definitely a smart buy something like this. So if you are looking for simple yet user friendly digital camera, you might want to consider getting this one. Sony is not paying me to write this blog, I just want to share what I think about this camera.
